This line of jewelry is created to evoke a feeling of sublimity--a quality that is beyond the ordinary, igniting awe and wonder in those who wear it. The sublime awakens in us a sense of transcendence and a connection to something greater than ourselves. It is a quality that can uplift and humble us, transporting us to a higher plane of existence. Difficult to define but easy to recognize, the sublime is an experience that stays with us long after we take off our jewelry.

Wax Carving

Wax carving and lost wax casting is an ancient jewelry-making technique that involves carving wax into intricate designs, creating a mold, and filling it with molten metal to create a piece of jewelry. The process has been used for centuries and was also utilized by ancient artisans to create molds for metal objects. The slow and meditative process requires patience and precision, but it allows for the creation of intricate and delicate designs that would be difficult to achieve through other methods.

The Lore of Jewelry

The desire to self-adorn has been an integral part of human history for thousands of years, with the first pieces of jewelry dating back to prehistoric times. Some of the most ancient pieces discovered were found in the Cave of the Treasure in Israel, which dates back to around 3,000 BCE. These relics were made from shells, bones, and stones and were likely worn as pendants or bracelets.

Another important ancient piece of jewelry is the Sumerian beaded necklace, which dates back to around 2,500 BCE. This necklace was found in the Royal Cemetery of Ur in Iraq and is made of lapis lazuli, gold, and carnelian beads. It is thought to have belonged to a high-ranking member of Sumerian society.

The ancient Egyptians were also known for their intricate and elaborate jewelry. One of the most famous pieces is the gold burial mask of Tutankhamun, which was discovered in his tomb in 1922. The mask is adorned with precious stones and features the iconic pharaonic beard. Other significant Egyptian jewelry pieces include the scarab beetle amulet and the ankh, which was a symbol of eternal life.

These ancient examples not only showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of early civilizations, but they also provide insight into their beliefs and values. From shells and stones to gold and precious gems, jewelry has always been a meaningful way for humans to express themselves and adorn their bodies.

Today, jewelry continues to hold meaning and significance in our lives. It is often worn as a form of self-expression and can represent personal style, cultural heritage, or sentimental value. There is a reason jewelry has played a role in human history for so long, and it goes even deeper than it’s representation to society, it also has an affect on us on an individual level.

Psychologically, wearing jewelry can have a profound effect on how we see ourselves and how we interact with others. Studies have shown that when we feel confident in our appearance, we tend to be more outgoing and social. Wearing jewelry can also serve as a reminder of special moments or people in our lives, giving us a sense of comfort and connection.

In addition, jewelry can be a conversation starter and a way to connect with others. It can be a way to express our interests and passions, and to connect with like-minded individuals. Overall, wearing jewelry can bring a sense of joy and positivity to our lives, making us feel beautiful and confident in our own skin.
