Helios was the Titan god of the sun, a guardian of oaths, and the god of sight. He dwelt in a golden palace in Oceanus at the far ends of the earth from which he emerged each dawn, crowned with the aureole of the sun, driving a chariot drawn by four winged steeds. When he reached the land of the Hesperides in the far West he descended into a golden cup which bore him through the northern streams of Okeanos back to his rising place in the East.

    • Medallions have a long and rich history as adornments worn by humans throughout time. The term "medallion" comes from the Latin word "medalia," which means a coin worth half a denarius. The first medallions were actually coins, and they were often given as rewards or prizes for military service or other achievements.

Over time, medallions evolved from being just coins to being decorative objects worn for their aesthetic value. They were made from a variety of materials, including gold, silver, bronze, and even glass or plastic. Medallions were often engraved with images or designs that had symbolic or religious significance.

In some cultures, medallions were believed to have magical properties and were worn as talismans or amulets to protect the wearer from harm or to bring good luck. In others, medallions were worn as a symbol of status or rank, such as in the military or in religious orders.

These medallions are hand sculpted in wax, cast into 14k yellow gold, then given a satin finish, each one made entirely by hand.
