Each labradorite is individually selected and given a form carved specifically for its shape and proportions. The stone and its hand-carved gold setting create a piece that cannot be precisely repeated.

Carved by hand,
for one stone.
Every piece begins at my bench, where I carve the form by hand in wax around the proportions of one individual labradorite. The setting is not adapted from a standard design. It is created for the particular stone it holds.
Once the carving is complete, the wax is cast in solid 14k gold through the lost-wax process. The piece is then carefully refined and finished by hand, preserving the subtle marks and variations that belong to its making.

The nature of
labradorite.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral known for labradorescence, an optical effect that allows bands of blue, green, gold, and violet to appear as the stone moves. The color is created within its layered internal structure rather than by pigment at the surface.
The Labradorite Gemstone Archive follows the stone through its geological formation, discovery in Labrador, Northern Lights folklore, historical use in adornment, and the qualities that distinguish one specimen from another.

Everyday wear
Avoid direct impact, pressure, or abrasion against hard surfaces. Remove your jewelry before exercise, heavy lifting, gardening, or household work.
Cleaning your piece
Clean gently with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Dry the piece thoroughly. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, abrasive products, or harsh cleaning solutions.
Water and personal products
Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or entering hot tubs. Apply perfume, lotion, hairspray, and other personal products before putting the piece on.
Storage
Store the piece in a soft pouch or lined compartment, separated from harder gemstones and other jewelry that could scratch the stone or gold.
